More information about Chardonnay - Vallarom
In the glass, the organically produced Chardonnay from Vallarom presents a bright golden-yellow color. On the nose, this Vallarom white wine reveals all kinds of green apple. As if that were not already impressive, maturation in large wooden casks adds notes of vanilla, hazelnut, and smoke.
The Vallarom Chardonnay presents itself to the wine enthusiast as wonderfully dry. This white wine never appears rough or austere, but rather round and smooth. Balanced and multi-layered, this silky and creamy white wine unfolds on the palate. The finish of this white wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region, more precisely from Trentino DOC, ultimately delights with a beautiful aftertaste. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral nuances from the limestone-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Vallarom Chardonnay
The basis for this well-balanced Chardonnay from Trentino-Alto Adige is grapes from the Chardonnay variety. In Trentino-Alto Adige, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on limestone soils. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is matured for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
Food recommendation for the Vallarom Chardonnay
This Italian white wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8–10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to omelet with salmon and fennel, fried trout with ginger and pear, or cod with cucumber-mustard vegetables.
