More information about Primivo Puglia IGP - Käfer
The elegant Primivo Puglia from the house of Käfer flows into the glass with a bright ruby red. On the nose, this Käfer red wine presents all sorts of sour cherries and blackberries. As if that were not already impressive, further aromas such as blueberry, clove and cinnamon are added through maturation in stainless steel.
This Italian wine tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with 5.8 grams of residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and, despite its dryness, delights with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully velvety. Thanks to the moderate acidity, Primivo Puglia caresses the palate with a velvety feel, while at the same time not lacking in freshness. On the finish, this wine from the Apulia wine-growing region finally impresses with a lovely length. Once again, nuances of blackberry and sour cherry appear.
Vinification of Käfer Primivo Puglia
The basis for the balanced Primivo Puglia from Italy is grapes of the Primitivo variety. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
