The Kalterersee Classico Superiore from the Ritterhof winery reveals itself in the glass in a bright ruby red and caresses the nose with the delicate aromas of ripe, juicy cherries with a delicate hint of bitter almond.
This fresh Vernatsch impresses on the palate with its fruity, elegant impression and balance.
Vinification for the Kalterersee Classico Superiore from Ritterhof
The vines for this South Tyrolean red wine, some of which are over 50 years old, are rooted in sandy gravel and moraine soils in Kaltern, above Lake Kaltern.
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimum ripeness, lightly crushed and destemmed and then fermented at a constant 22° Celsius. The wine is matured and aged for 6 months in large wooden barrels.
