More information about Kreuznacher Pinot Noir - Weingut In den Zehn Morgen

In the glass, the Kreuznacher Pinot Noir from Weingut In den Zehn Morgen reveals a bright light-red color. When the wine glass is swirled, this red wine displays a perfect balance, as it does not appear watery, syrupy, or liqueur-like on the glass walls. This varietal German wine flatters the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of blackberries and blackcurrants. Added to this are nuances of smokiness and plum.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with an exceptionally low residual sugar content. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus, despite all its dryness, this German wine enchants with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. Balanced and complex, this velvety red wine presents itself on the palate. On the finish, this youthful wine from the Nahe winegrowing region ultimately captivates with considerable length. Once again, hints of blackcurrant and blackberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the loess and marl-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of Weingut In den Zehn Morgen Kreuznacher Pinot Noir

The basis for the well-balanced Kreuznacher Pinot Noir from Germany is grapes of the Pinot Noir variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Nahe. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into soils made of loess and marl. The Kreuznacher Pinot Noir is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this German wine exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. At the point of optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Kreuznacher Pinot Noir are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of rough and less selective mechanical harvesters. After hand-picking, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by several months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.
