More information about Castello Pomino Benefizio Bianco Riserva DOC - Frescobaldi

In the glass, Castello Pomino's Pomino Benefizio Riserva displays a bright golden color. When swirling the wine in the glass, one perceives a perfect balance, as the wine shows neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like notes on the glass walls. The first nose of the Pomino Benefizio Riserva is charming with notes of Gallia melon, Mirabelle plums, and star fruits. Among the fruity components of the bouquet, notes of barrel aging, such as more fruity-balsamic nuances, are also present.

On the palate, the Pomino Benefizio Riserva from Castello Pomino unfolds wonderfully dry, full-bodied, and aromatic. The texture of this balanced white wine presents itself as wonderfully creamy on the palate. Thanks to moderate fruit acidity, the Pomino Benefizio Riserva offers a smooth mouthfeel while maintaining freshness. The finish of this youthful white wine from the Tuscany wine region, specifically from Pomino DOC, impresses with an exceptional aftertaste. The finish is further complemented by mineral notes derived from the sandy soils.

Vinification of Castello Pomino Pomino Benefizio Riserva

The well-balanced Pomino Benefizio Riserva from Italy is a varietal wine made from Chardonnay grapes. In Tuscany, the vines producing the grapes for this wine grow on sandy soils. The Pomino Benefizio Riserva is a classic Old World wine, exuding extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. At the point of optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Pomino Benefizio Riserva are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of coarse and less selective harvesters. After handpicking, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here, they are sorted and gently crushed. The fermentation then takes place in small barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation completes, the Pomino Benefizio Riserva is aged for another 14 months in oak barriques. Following barrel aging, it undergoes a lengthy bottle aging, which makes this white wine even more complex.

Food pairing recommendations for Castello Pomino Pomino Benefizio Riserva

Enjoy this Italian white wine best when well chilled at 8 - 10°C as an accompaniment to salmon and fennel omelette, fruity endive salad, or potato pan with salmon.
