More information about Prestige Pinot Blanc dry - Bergdolt-Reif & Nett

With the Bergdolt-Reif & Nett Prestige Weißburgunder, a first-class white wine enters the crystal-clear glass. It offers a wonderfully dense, light yellow color. In the center, this white wine displays a charming golden yellow hue. When swirling the glass, this white wine reveals a high viscosity, which is shown by the church windows at the rim of the glass. In the glass, this white wine from Bergdolt-Reif & Nett unveils aromas of mirabelles and quinces, complemented by toasted wood, mint/lemon balm, and vanilla. The Bergdolt-Reif & Nett Prestige Weißburgunder presents itself to the wine connoisseur as wonderfully dry. This white wine never comes across as coarse or meager, as one might expect from an Icon wine segment. On the palate, this expressive white wine features an extremely light and velvety texture. Its lively fruit acidity makes the Prestige Weißburgunder taste incredibly fresh and vibrant on the palate. In the finish, this well-ageing wine from the Pfalz region ultimately delights with good length. Hints of mirabelle and quince reappear, and in the aftertaste, mineral notes from the loess and clay-dominated soils are added.

Vinification of the Prestige Weißburgunder from Bergdolt-Reif & Nett

This white wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Weissburgunder. For this wonderfully powerful varietal wine from Bergdolt-Reif & Nett, only flawless grape material was harvested. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Pfalz. The vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay and loess. The Prestige Weißburgunder is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this German wine exudes an exceptional European charm, clearly underscoring the success of wines from the Old World. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Prestige Weißburgunder are hand-picked exclusively, without the use of coarse and non-selective machines. After the grape harvest, the grapes are promptly taken to the pressing house. Here, they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After fermentation ends, the powerful Prestige Weißburgunder is aged for several months in barriques and 500 l oak barrels.

Food Recommendation for the Prestige Weißburgunder from Bergdolt-Reif & Nett

This German white wine should best be enjoyed well-chilled at 8 - 10°C. It pairs perfectly with wok vegetables with fish, potato pan-fried with salmon, or vegetable stew with pesto.
