The barrel-aged R56 Barolo from the wine-growing region of Piedmont reveals itself in the glass in dense ruby red. With a slight tilt, the red wine glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the rims. When the glass is swirled, this red wine shows high viscosity, which is reflected in pronounced church windows on the glass. This pure-varietal Italian wine presents wonderfully complex notes of plums and sour cherries in the glass. These are joined by hints of forest floor.

On the palate, Brandini's R56 Barolo starts off wonderfully dry, firm and aromatic. Some wines say dry on the label, others really are. This red wine belongs to the second group, as it was bottled with only 0.4 g of residual sugar. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly velvety texture. Thanks to its lively acidity, the R56 Barolo appears impressively fresh and vibrant on the palate. The finish of this matured red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region, more precisely from Barolo DOCG, ultimately delights with a remarkable length.

Vinification of Brandini's R56 Barolo

This powerful red wine from Italy is organically produced from the Nebbiolo grape variety. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately brought to the winery. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures follows. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months in oak barrels.

Food recommendation for Brandini R56 Barolo

This Italian should ideally be enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfectly suited as an accompaniment to vegetable couscous with beef meatballs, boeuf bourguignon or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
