The Teruzzi Vernaccia di San Gimignano presents itself to the connoisseur as wonderfully dry. This white wine never appears coarse or meager, but rather round and smooth. Light-footed and multi-layered, this light white wine presents itself on the palate. The finish of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Tuscany, more precisely from Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG, ultimately delights with a good aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the marl- and clay-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Vernaccia di San Gimignano from Teruzzi

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Vernaccia. For this wonderfully elegant varietal wine from Teruzzi, only the best grapes were used. In Tuscany, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay, sand, loam and marl. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Vernaccia di San Gimignano are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of coarse and low-selective mechanical harvesters. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately brought to the press house. There, they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.

Ideally, enjoy this white wine from Italy moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C as an accompanying wine to omelet with salmon and fennel, stir-fried vegetables with fish or onion tart with thyme.
