More information about Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG - Costa Arènte
The Amarone della Valpolicella from Costa Arènte is a full-bodied, expressive red wine from Italy and is made from Corvina (50%), Corvinone (20%), Rondinella (15%) and other red grape varieties (15%).
The color in the glass is reminiscent of a bright ruby with purple reflections. The bouquet impresses the nose with its powerful, multi-layered aromas - red and black fruits (sour cherry, blackcurrant and raspberries) are very present - accompanied by spicy hints of licorice, tobacco and black pepper. This Italian red wine has a wonderful elegance on the palate, reflecting the fruity and berry aromas on the nose. There are also notes of plum and vanilla. The fresh, balanced acidity harmonizes perfectly with the firm tannins. The concentrated finish has a lingering length.
Vinification of the Costa Arènte Amarone
The hand-picked grapes grow on a slope on marl soils made of calcareous rock from the Dolomites in the Italian wine-growing region of Veneto - D.O.C.G. Amarone della Valpolicella.
After very careful harvesting and careful selection of the grapes, they are brought to the Costa Arènte winery. There, the grapes are gently pressed and the resulting mash is fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. The 36-month maturation in large wooden barrels (25 hl and 5 hl) ensures the wonderful variety of aromas, the dense color and the firm tannin structure.
Dining recommendations for the Amarone della Valpolicella Costa Arènte
This dry red wine from Italy is a wonderful soloist that should be decanted before drinking. However, this wine is also a great accompaniment to roast venison, saddle of venison or wild boar ragout.
