More information about Barolo Riserva DOCG - Bersano

In the glass, the Barolo Riserva from Bersano offers a dense ruby-red color. When the glass is slightly tilted, a transition of the color towards garnet red can be seen at the rims of this barrel-aged wine. If you give it some air in the glass by swirling, this red wine reveals high viscosity, which shows in pronounced church windows on the glass wall. Poured into a red wine glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of violets, roses, and blackberries, rounded off by further fruity nuances contributed by the barrel aging.

On the palate, the Barolo Riserva from Bersano starts off wonderfully dry, firm, and aromatic. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. The finish of this matured red wine from the wine-growing region of Piedmont, more precisely from Barolo DOCG, ultimately delights with a remarkable length.

Vinification of the Bersano Barolo Riserva

The basis for the powerful Barolo Riserva from Italy is grapes of the Nebbiolo variety. The Barolo Riserva is a thoroughbred Old World wine, as this Italian breathes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After it is complete, the powerful Barolo Riserva is aged for another 8 months in French oak barriques.

Food recommendation for the Bersano Barolo Riserva

Ideally, enjoy this red wine from Italy at a temperature of 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine to leek tortilla, pumpkin casserole, or duck breast with snow peas.
