More information about Birkweiler Muschelkalk Weisser Burgunder - Dr. Wehrheim

The elegant Birkweiler Muschelkalk Weisser Burgunder Dr. Wehrheim shimmers with bright light yellow in the glass. Swiveling the wine glass, one can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, as it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. To the nose, this Dr. Wehrheim white wine shows all sorts of nashi pear, quince, pears and apples. As if that wasn't impressive enough, other flavors like dark chocolate, forest floor and whole nut chocolate join in.

This dry white wine from Dr. Wehrheim is ideal for wine drinkers who like their wine dry. The Birkweiler Muschelkalk Weisser Burgunder already comes quite close to this, as it was pressed with just 2.6 grams of residual sugar. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Birkweiler Muschelkalk Weisser Burgunder presents itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this well storable white from the wine-growing region of Palatinate finally inspires with beautiful length. Once again, hints of nashi pear and quince show through. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the limestone-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Dr. Wehrheim Birkweiler Muschelkalk Pinot Blanc

This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Pinot Blanc. Only impeccable grape material was brought in for this wonderfully balanced single-varietal wine from Dr. Wehrheim. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone. Birkweiler Muschelkalk Weisser Burgunder is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this German wine breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The ripening of the grapes for this Pinot Blanc wine is influenced to an undeniable degree by the climate of the growing region. In the Palatinate, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and a rather moderate must weight. The grapes for this white wine from Germany, after ensuring optimal ripeness, are harvested exclusively by hand. After harvesting, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully ground. Fermentation then takes place in the cellar at controlled temperatures.

Food recommendation for the Dr. Wehrheim Birkweiler Muschelkalk Weisser Burgunder

This German wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to spaghetti with caper and tomato sauce, pumpkin casserole or cabbage roulades.
