Calinverno Veronese Rosso IGT - Monte Zovo

The barrel-aged Calinverno Veronese Rosso from the Veneto wine-growing region is a dense purple-red in the glass. Held at a slight angle, the red wine glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the edges. If you give it a little air by swirling, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in church windows on the edge of the glass. This Italian cuvée flatters the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of black cherries, damsons, morello cherries and plums. There are also hints of gingerbread spice, cinnamon and black tea.

Vinification of the Monte Zovo Calinverno Veronese Rosso

The powerful Calinverno Veronese Rosso from Italy is a cuvée made from the Cabernet Sauvignon, Corvina, Corvinone, Croatina and Rondinella grape varieties. Obviously, the Calinverno Veronese Rosso is also determined by more than just the Rosso del Veronese IGT soil. This Italian wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, and is extraordinarily impressive. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Calinverno Veronese Rosso is matured in oak barriques for a further 24 months.

This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C with goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram, roast veal liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce or vegetable couscous with beef meatballs.
