More information about Cantodoro Riserva Sicilia DOC - Feudo Arancio
The Cantodoro Riserva from Feudo Arancio from the Italian wine-growing region of DOC Sicilia is a wonderful, complex and refined red wine cuvée made from the Nero d'Avola and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties.
This wine has an intense red color with violet highlights. The expressive bouquet exudes intense aromas of blackberries, raspberries, wild strawberries and cranberries with hints of liquorice, plum, vanilla and tobacco. On the palate, this Italian red wine reveals its refinement, beautiful body, great depth and very good structure. The oak ageing gives this wine its complexity. The finish has a beautiful, pleasant length.
Vinification of the Feudo Arancio Riserva Cantodoro
The Nero d'Avola: The grape harvest begins in the second week of September. Once the grapes have arrived in the Feudo Arancio wine cellar, alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation with selected bacteria. Finally, this Nero d'Avola is matured in French oak barriques for 8 months.
The Cabernet Sauvignon: The grapes are harvested at the beginning of October and, like the Nero d'Avola, fermented in stainless steel tanks followed by malolactic fermentation. This wine is matured for 12 months in French barrique barrels.
After the wood maturation of both grape varieties is complete, they are married and refined together in barriques for 4 months. Finally, this red wine rounds off harmoniously for a further 8 months in the bottle.
