The elegant Castelzola Rosso from Lodi Corazza flows into the glass in a bright purple red. The bouquet of this red wine from Emilia-Romagna enchants with nuances of blackberry and raspberry. Following the aromatics further, blueberry, garrigue and forest floor emerge, enhanced by the influence of oak.

The Lodi Corazza Castelzola Rosso impresses with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a true quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus, despite all its dryness, this Italian delights with the finest balance. Flavor simply does not necessarily require sugar. On the palate, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an extraordinarily velvety, fleshy and dense texture. The finish of this red wine from the Emilia-Romagna wine-growing region finally captivates with a beautiful reverberation. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral notes from the clay-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Lodi Corazza Castelzola Rosso

The basis for the balanced Castelzola Rosso from Italy consists of grapes from the Barbera and Merlot varieties. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Emilia-Romagna. Here the vines sink their roots deep into clay soils. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in concrete and large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the elegant Castelzola Rosso is aged for another 18 months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Castelzola Rosso from Lodi Corazza

This Italian red wine should ideally be enjoyed at a tempered 15 - 18°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompaniment to braised chicken in red wine, fried calf’s liver with apples, onions and balsamic sauce, or lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs.
