More information about Fabio Contato Valtènesi Rosso DOP - Cà Maiol
The Fabio Contato Valtènesi Rosso from the pen of Cà Maiol from Lombardy reveals a dense, ruby red color in the wine glass. With a little sideways movement, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the edges. When the glass is swirled, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in the strong stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully fragrant aromas of plum, plum, blueberry and blackcurrant, rounded off with black tea, green bell pepper and vanilla, which are contributed by the ageing in wooden barrels.
The Cà Maiol Fabio Contato Valtènesi Rosso delights with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with 4 grams of residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully silky, melting, velvety and dense. The Fabio Contato Valtènesi Rosso is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate thanks to its present fruit acidity. The finish of this very mature red wine from the Lombardy wine-growing region, more precisely from Valtenèsi DOC, is convincing with a remarkable aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the clay-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Fabio Contato Valtènesi Rosso from Cà Maiol
This powerful red wine from Italy is made from the Barbera, Groppello, Marzemino and Sangiovese grape varieties. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay soils in Lombardy. Without question, the Fabio Contato Valtènesi Rosso is also characterized by more than just the Valtenèsi DOC soil. This Italian wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, presenting itself as extraordinarily fragrant. The ripening of the grapes for this wine made from Barbera, Groppello, Marzemino and Sangiovese is influenced to a very large extent by the climate of the growing region. In Lombardy, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected in particularly long and even grapes and a rather moderate must weight. Once perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for Fabio Contato Valtènesi Rosso are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by ageing for several months in French oak barriques.
