Vinification of the Galea Vernatsch from Nals Margreid
The balanced Galea Vernatsch from Italy is a single-varietal wine made from the Vernatsch grape variety. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on sedimentary and weathered rock soils in Trentino-Alto Adige. The grapes for the Galea Vernatsch are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters, at the time of optimum ripeness. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by ageing for several months in large oak barrels.
