The Kreuth Chardonnay Alto Adige/South Tyrol Terlano DOC by Cantina Terlan sparkles in the glass in a beautiful straw yellow. On the nose opens a complex bouquet, characterized by delicious aromas of exotic fruits, passion fruit, star fruit and citrus fruits, which are complemented by aromatic and mineral hints of flint.
This elegant Terlano Chardonnay presents itself on the palate very harmonious and appealing, soft, creamy, with fruity notes and a pleasant interplay in the long finale between mineral nuances and fine, varietal acidity.
Vinification for the Kreuth Chardonnay Alto Adige Terlaner DOC by Cantina Terlan
The Chardonnay grapes for this cru come from the namesake location Kreuth in the DOC wine-growing region of Terlan. This Chardonnay has a considerable storage potential.
The harvest and selection are carried out by hand. The grapes are pressed whole and the must is clarified by natural decantation. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in 30 hl oak barrels at a controlled temperature, followed by malolactic fermentation and ageing for 10 months on fine yeasts, 50% in stainless steel tanks and 50% in large wooden barrels.
Food recommendation for the Alto Adige Terlaner DOC Kreuth Chardonnay
This delightful, elegant Chardonnay Cru from South Tyrol is a good accompaniment to Vitello Tonnato, marinated octopus, but also antipasti and grilled vegetables, typical South Tyrolean cheese dumplings, wild garlic and asparagus, or the Italian classic pasta with olive oil, garlic and hot peppers, grilled fish with fennel, stuffed, salty crepes or fresh goat's cheese.
