More information about Manditocai Friulano Collio DOC - Livon
The Manditocai Friulano Collio DOC from Livon has a straw-yellow color with golden reflections in the glass. The intense bouquet on the nose releases the scent of peach leaves, nutmeg and spice aromas. On the palate, this noble white cru from Friuli is extremely fine, pleasantly soft, full-bodied, with a lively, varietal freshness, supported by a beautiful acidity and minerality, which gives the wine a good structure. In the long finish, all the aromas of the Collio unfold with lightness, mineral and salty notes and the typical bitter almond aroma.
Vinifiaction of the Manditocai Friulano Collio DOC from Livon
The Manditocai vineyard of the same name in the village of Ruttars in the municipality of Dolegna del Collio gives its name to this award-winning cru. The Tocai Friulano grape variety thrives here on clay marl and loamy soils. The grapes are harvested selectively and exclusively by hand, collected in crates, taken to the cellar and pressed as whole bunches, without turning, simply by slowly and gradually increasing the pressure.
The resulting must is collected in a stainless steel vat, cold decanted over 24 hours, and then divided, 50% is transferred to stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation, 50% to Hungarian oak barriques. The Hungarian oak barriques are characterized by a very fine wood and a very delicate toast, ideal conditions for the final product. After 8 months of ageing, the wine is bottled.
The Manditocai Friulano has a shelf life of 10 to 15 years.
