The Braide Grande Pinot Grigio Collio DOC glows intensely straw yellow in the glass, a bouquet with spicy and floral aromas unfolds on the nose. On the palate dry, full-bodied, almost wild, with hints of nutmeg in the long reverberation.
Vinification of the Braide Grande Pinot Grigio Collio DOC from Livon
The grapes for this Pinot Grigio Cru from Livon grow in the Braide vineyard near Ruttars in the municipality of Dolegna del Collio in eastern Friuli, on loamy marl soils of oceanic origin. The grapes are harvested exclusively manually, the grapes are placed in small boxes in the wine cellar and cold-macerated in the horizontal press for a period of eight hours, the must is then clarified by natural decantation. The subsequent fermentation takes place for 30% of the wine in the French barriques from Allier and for 70% in stainless steel tanks, at a controlled temperature of 10°C. The wine is then not transferred, but matured for eight months at a constant temperature in the same containers in which the respective fermentation took place. At the end of this period, the cuvée is made up of the differently aged wines, bottled and the wine thus finished harmonizes for a further period in the bottle store before it is put on sale.
The Cru Braide Grande Pinot Grigio can be stored for 6 to 10 years.
