More information about Meriame Barolo DOCG - Paolo Manzone

The Paolo Manzone Meriame Barolo is a first-class red wine. It presents a wonderfully dense, ruby red color. At the edges, the color also transitions to garnet red. The bouquet of this red wine from Piedmont is impressive with nuances of blackcurrant, morello cherry, plum and blueberry. If we explore the aromas further, vanilla, black tea and cocoa bean are added due to the influence of oak.

The Meriame Barolo from Paolo Manzone is the right wine for all connoisseurs who like as little residual sweetness in their wine as possible. However, it is never sparse or brittle. The texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully dense on the palate. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, Meriame Barolo is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of blackcurrant and plum. Mineral notes from the clay and limestone-dominated soils are added to the finish.

Vinification of Paolo Manzone Meriame Barolo

This powerful red wine from Italy is made from the Nebbiolo grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Piedmont. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay and limestone. Once perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for the Meriame Barolo are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by ageing for 38 months in 900-litre Slavonian oak tonneaux.

Dining recommendations for the Meriame Barolo by Paolo Manzone

Ideally, enjoy this red wine from Italy at a temperature of 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to stuffed peppers, Thai cucumber salad or spicy curry with lamb.
