More information about Negroamaro F - Cantine San Marzano

The Negroamaro F from Cantine San Marzano from the Italian wine-growing region of Apulia is an outstanding, complex and full-bodied red wine.

This wine displays a dark violet hue with a black core in the glass. The bouquet shines with great density and reveals aromas of ripe black blackberries. Notes of cherry jam and plum compote are also clearly perceptible and combine with hints of cocoa, cloves, cinnamon and thyme.

The dense tannin structure caresses the palate silkily. Fruit and spicy aromas dominate here, balanced by a fine acidity. The full and dense body of this powerful wine also comes to the fore. A very long finish rounds off the wine experience.

Vinification of the San Marzano Negroamaro F

This varietal Negroamaro comes from autochthonous vines and an optimal site to emphasize fruit and depth. Low yields due to the limestone soil and hot winds from Africa enable a delicious development of the grapes and drive the high quality of the fruit.

The rich winemaking tradition of the area around Taranto and San Marzano produces a wealth of autochthonous grape varieties and thus the opportunity to create many exciting, region-typical and high-quality wines. The grapes for the Negroamaro F are predominantly harvested by hand in September. The final step in refining the wine consists of maturing it for 12 months in French and Caucasian oak barrels. Here its varietal tannins and characteristic fruit aromas can mature and develop optimally.
