More information about Passiari Terre Siciliane IGT - Feudo Arancio

The Passiari from Feudo Arancio, from the Italian wine-growing region of Sicily, is an elegant, velvety and full-bodied red wine cuvée made from the grape varieties Syrah (75%) and Nero d'Avola (25%).

In the glass, this wine shines in a deep ruby red with garnet highlights. The fruity bouquet is dominated by red, dark fruits. Raspberry, blackberry and cherry are particularly evident. The wine is underpinned by floral nuances of violet. Thanks to the Syrah, spicy notes are also added. On the palate, this Italian red wine has a very good structure with a full-bodied body that is enveloped by a velvety texture. The elegant, delicate tannins are also very well integrated and lead into a pleasantly long finish.

Vinification of Feudo Arancio Passiari

Syrah: At the end of September, the harvest of optimally ripe Syrah grapes begins. Once the harvested fruit has arrived at the winery, it is fermented for 10 to 12 days in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature with regular pumping over. Subsequently, 50% of this wine is aged for 6 to 8 months in oak barrels – the remaining 50% remain in stainless steel tanks.

Nero d'Avola: The harvest for the Nero d'Avola grapes begins in mid-September. The harvested fruit is first dried for 60 days. Afterwards, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. The must is fermented for 15 days at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Maturation takes place exclusively in stainless steel tanks.

Only after the maturation period are the two grape varieties married together and rest for another 6 months in stainless steel tanks.
