More information about Pfälzer Freiheit trocken - Weingut Hammel
The elegant Pfälzer Freiheit from the pen of Weingut Hammel flows into the glass with a brilliant purple-red color. This German cuvée shows wonderfully expressive notes of blackberries, sour cherries and plums in the glass. There are also hints of pepper.
Weingut Hammel’s Pfälzer Freiheit delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with 6.1 grams of residual sugar. This is a true quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus, despite all its dryness, this German wine enchants with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require residual sugar. This melting and fleshy red wine presents itself on the palate as balanced and multi-layered. Thanks to its well-balanced acidity, Pfälzer Freiheit caresses the palate with a velvety mouthfeel, without sacrificing juicy liveliness. The finish of this red wine from the Palatinate growing region, which has good aging potential, finally delights with a good length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral hints from the clay and loess-dominated soils.
Vinification of Weingut Hammel Pfälzer Freiheit
The starting point for the first-class and wonderfully balanced Pfälzer Freiheit cuvée from Weingut Hammel are Dornfelder, Saint Laurent and Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder) grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate. Here the vines sink their roots deep into clay and loess soils. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After it is complete, the Pfälzer Freiheit can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for several months.
Food recommendation for Pfälzer Freiheit from Weingut Hammel
