More information about Piceno Superiore Podere 72 - Poderi San Lazzaro
The Piceno Superiore Podere, aged in barrel and hailing from the wine-growing region of the Marche, presents itself in the glass in a dense ruby red. Poured into a red wine glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully complex aromas of raspberry, rounded off by further fruity nuances contributed by the barrel aging.
On the palate, the Piceno Superiore Podere from Poderi San Lazzaro starts off pleasantly dry, firm and aromatic. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an exceedingly velvety, dense and fleshy texture. On the finish, this red wine from the Marche wine-growing region delights with a beautiful length. Once again, hints of raspberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the clay-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Piceno Superiore Podere from Poderi San Lazzaro
The basis for the powerful Piceno Superiore Podere from the Marche consists of grapes from the Sangiovese and Montepulciano varieties. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Marche. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into clay soils. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house. There, they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
