More information about Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Kabinett - Nik Weis St. Urbans-Hof
The Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Kabinett from Nik Weis St. Urbans-Hof is a pure, finesse-rich and light-footed white wine from the single vineyard Goldtröpfchen in Piesport in the German wine-growing region of Mosel.
A brilliant golden yellow with light golden highlights, this wine presents itself in the glass. The nose is skillfully taken by tropical fruits - especially passion fruit and mango - and spicy-smoky nuances (thanks to the blue Devonian slate). The brilliant fruit flavors are also reflected on the palate of this German white wine, accompanied by a delightfully natural residual sweetness. Despite the lush interplay of fruit richness and residual sweetness, the Nik Weis Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling does not lose its prancing lightness. The refreshing, complex acid structure gives this white wine the final touch.
Vinification of the Nik Weis St. Urbans-Hof Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Kabinett
Piesporter Goldtröpfchen is without a doubt one of the oldest and most prestigious vineyards on the Mosel. The steep slope with the rugged slate rocks, which reaches down to the Moselle, is divided into small terraces. The soil is characterized by soft, blue Devonian slate and weathering sediments. The Riesling vines range in age from 40 to over 100 years.
Exclusively by hand, the Riesling grapes are carefully harvested and strictly selected. In the wine cellar of Nik Weis St. Urbans-Hof, the grapes are fermented spontaneously in stainless steel tanks. Finally, this residually sweet white wine is aged in stainless steel tanks as well as in traditional Mosel barrels.
