More information about Pinot Grigio Ramato - Attems
The elegant Pinot Grigio Ramato from Attems shimmers a bright strawberry pink in the glass. Poured into a white wine glass, this rosé wine from Italy presents wonderfully expressive aromas of papaya, starfruit, guava and cape gooseberry, rounded off by oriental spices, vanilla and cocoa bean contributed by the barrel aging.
On the palate, Attems’ Pinot Grigio Ramato opens wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. On the finish, this youthful rosé wine from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia winegrowing region delights with remarkable length. Once again, hints of cape gooseberry and papaya appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the sand- and clay-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Pinot Grigio Ramato from Attems
This wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Pinot Grigio. Only the best grape material was used for this exceptionally well-balanced varietal wine from Attems. In Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sand, clay and gravel. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled. The maturation in wooden barrels is followed by extensive bottle aging, which makes this rosé wine even more complex.
