The barrel-aged Riesling from the Pfalz wine-growing region appears in the glass in a brilliantly shimmering light yellow. With a little time in the glass, this white wine from the Old World offers wonderfully expressive aromas of pink grapefruit, orange, grapefruit and lime, rounded off by lovage, sun-warmed rocks and green peppers contributed by the barrel aging.
The Oliver Zeter Riesling presents itself to the connoisseur pleasantly dry. This white wine never appears coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine in the upper price range. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Riesling presents itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this youthful white wine from the Pfalz wine-growing region is ultimately captivating with beautiful reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by marl and limestone.
Vinification of the Riesling from Oliver Zeter
The basis for the elegant Riesling from the Palatinate are grapes from the Riesling grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of limestone, loess, sandstone and marl. After harvesting, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Riesling can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for several months.
