More information about Riesling vom blauen Schiefer - Clemens Busch

The light-footed Riesling from the red slate Clemens Busch shimmers into the glass with a brilliant light yellow. Swiveling the glass, this white wine is characterized by an immense brilliance that makes it dance nimbly in the glass. Poured into a white wine glass, this white wine from Germany offers wonderfully expressive aromas of pink grapefruit, apricot, pomelo and mirabelle plum, rounded off by sun-warmed rocks and forest soil contributed by aging in wooden barrels.

On the palate, the Riesling from the red slate of Clemens Busch opens wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic.Despite its dry appearance on the palate, this white wine delights with the finest melt and finely woven residual sweetness. On the tongue, this light-footed white wine is characterized by an incredibly light and melting texture. Due to its concise fruit acidity, the Riesling from red slate is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this good storable from the wine-growing region Mosel finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of lemongrass and lime appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the slate-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Clemens Busch Riesling from red slate

This elegant white wine from Germany is vinified from the Riesling grape variety. In the Moselle region, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of slate. Moreover, the grapes of this top wine from Clemens Busch do not grow in the flatlands, but dig their roots into the soil on steep slopes. Steep slope cultivation ensures that even in less sunny winegrowing regions with shorter growing seasons, the vines catch a maximum of sun. The fact that Riesling grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has an influence on the ripeness of the grapes that cannot be dismissed. This results, among other things, in particularly long and even grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. After the hand harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the Riesling from red slate is aged for several months in 1000 liter oak barrels.
