The nose of this white wine from Rheinhessen convinces with notes of peach, acacia, lime and mirabelle. If we trace the aromatics further, juniper, lovage and brioche are added.
On the palate, the Riesling from St. Antony's red slate starts wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this light-bodied white wine is characterized by an incredibly crisp texture. The final of this white wine from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen finally convinces with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the slate-dominated soils.
Vinification of the St. Antony Riesling from red slate
This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Riesling. For this wonderfully elegant single-varietal wine from St. Antony, only impeccable grapes were brought in. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Rheinhessen. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of slate. The grapes for this white wine from Germany are harvested exclusively by hand at the time of optimal ripeness. After the hand harvest, the grapes immediately reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.
