The Sant'Emiliano Chiaretto Valtènesi DOC from Azienda Agricola Pratello impresses with its very lively, clear rosé. The aroma of this Chiaretto from Lombardy is just as clear and fresh. It contains clear notes of almond blossom, imperial pear, raspberry and gentle notes of cedar fruit and Golden Delicious apple. This Italian rosé wine is wonderfully crisp, juicy and dry on the palate, round and soft, with a slight bitter note on the finish reminiscent of delicate almond skin.
Vinification of Sant'Emiliano Chiaretto from Pratello
The grapes for this rosé wine from western Lake Garda grow in an ideal, sunny and well-ventilated location at around 180 m above sea level. Four local grape varieties are pressed together for this rosé: Groppello, Marzemino, Barbera and Sangiovese, all rigorously harvested by hand. The grapes macerate at cold temperatures for around 8 hours to preserve the pink nuances, ideal for the subsequent fermentation. This takes place at around 16°C and lasts 10 days. The wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks and then for a further 3 months in the bottle.
