Vinification of Vigneto Santa Pia Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG from La Braccesca
The Sangiovese grapes for this elegant red wine grow in the 15 hectare Santa Pia vineyard, one of the most prestigious sites for the production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The Sangiovese clones have been carefully selected over the years with the aim of producing a cru that best expresses the character and the terroir.
The Snagiovese grapes from the Santa Pia vineyard are harvested rigorously by hand around mid-October. After destemming and soft pressing of the grapes, the must is transferred to stainless steel vats, where the alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in order to preserve the typical aromas of the Sangiovese grape variety. After maceration on the skins for 20 days, the wine is transferred to 500 litres of tonneaux for malolactic fermentation and subsequent ageing for 12 months. After bottling, the wine is left to mature in the bottle for 20 months before being sold.
This Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Vigneto Santa Pia is a beautiful example of complexity, intensity, noblesse, elegance, balance and harmony. It has a shelf life of at least 15 years.
