The Sessantenario Malvasia Salento IGT from Cantina Sampietrana sparkles an intense ruby red with violet reflections in the glass. The nose reveals aromas of jam made from small red berries, slightly spicy and notes of vanilla. On the palate, this appealing red wine from Apulia is full and elegant, with pleasant, sweet tannins and a long, persistent finish.
Vinification of the Sessantenario Malvasia Salento IGT from Cantina Sampietrana
100% Malvasia Nera is vinified for this red wine from the Selezioni line. The vines, which grow on clayey to calcareous soils, are cultivated using the traditional "alberello pugliese" method, which delivers optimal results, particularly for the local grape varieties. After the manual harvest in the second decade of September, the grapes are macerated and fermented at a controlled temperature, then gently pressed and the marc separated from the wine. The wine is matured in barriques for 6 to 8 months before being released for sale.
