More information about Stettener Schilfsandstein Riesling feinherb - Aldinger

The Stettener Schilfsandstein Riesling from Aldinger (formerly Pulvermächer) comes from the First VDP site Pulvermächer in Stetten, east of Stuttgart. In the glass, this single-vineyard wine displays an elegant, pale straw yellow color. This fine off-dry white wine delights on the nose with aromas of ripe citrus fruits, lime zest, some grapefruit and tropical nuances. Fragrant nuances of quince and acacia blossom charmingly round out the bouquet of this great Württemberger Riesling.

On the palate, Aldingers Stettener Schilfsandstein Riesling first shows classic Riesling characteristics. Nice draw, grippy acidity, beguilingly coherent fruit sweetness and a great minerality carried by the siliceous sandstone. The finish is again full of floral scents of quince and fully ripe Boskoop, caressed by elegant, fresh, never pappy sweetness.

Vinification of the Aldinger Stettener Schilfsandstein Riesling

This single-vineyard Riesling from the first VDP site Stettener Pulvermächer is produced 100% in stainless steel tanks and brings the minerality of the siliceous sandstone perfectly into the bottle. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with the vineyard's own yeasts at a cool 12-14°C. This is followed by yeast aging in February of the following year.

Food recommendations for the Schilfsandstein Riesling from Aldinger

Enjoy this fine tart white wine from Württemberg with spicy Thai dishes with coconut milk, with mild Indian curries, with stir-fried chicken dishes or simply straight.
