More information about Tuforosso - Sassotondo

With the Sassotondo Tuforosso, a first-class organic red wine finds its way into the glass. It offers a wonderfully dense, ruby-red color. The first nose of the Tuforosso caresses with nuances of raspberries. Further fruity-balsamic nuances join the fruity hints of the bouquet.

This wine impresses with its straightforward dry flavor profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus, despite all its dryness, this Italian enchants with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require sugar. Powerful and complex, this velvety, fleshy and dense red wine presents itself on the palate. On the finish, this wine from the Tuscan wine-growing region delights with a beautiful length. Hints of raspberry appear again. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the soils dominated by volcanic rock also join in.

Vinification of Sassotondo Tuforosso

The basis for the first-class and wonderfully powerful Tuforosso cuvée from Sassotondo are Sangiovese, Merlot and Teroldego grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Tuscany. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into soils of volcanic rock. After harvesting, the grapes are brought immediately to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Tuforosso can further harmonize on the fine lees for 4 months.

Food recommendation for Sassotondo Tuforosso

This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15–18°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompaniment to ossobuco, stuffed bell peppers or fried calf’s liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce.
