Bärba Cesco Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC - Elio Filippino

The Bärba Cesco Barbera d'Alba Superiore by Elio Filippino is a wonderful, varietal red wine from Piedmont. 

In the glass, this wine shines in a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The nose delights in complex aromas of ripe forest fruits – especially blueberries, blackberries, and bilberries – complemented by hints of vanilla and fine wood. On the palate, this Italian red wine has a full body with a wonderfully elegant tannin structure. The finish is pleasantly long and accompanied by vanilla notes. 

Vinification of the Elio Filippino Bärba Cesco Barbera d'Alba Superiore

After careful hand-harvesting of the Barbera grapes, they are carefully sorted and destemmed in the wine cellar. Traditionally, the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks. After completing the fermentation process, this wine ages for a total of 18 months in barriques. The aging in oak barrels gives the wine its rich color, intense aromas, and elegant tannins.

This dry Italian red wine is the perfect accompaniment to roast beef in dark sauce with onions, wild boar ragout with spaetzle, or even aged cheeses. We recommend decanting this wine.
