More information about Piccole Vigne Barolo DOCG - Erbaluna

The barrel-aged Barolo DOCG Piccole Vigne from the Piedmont wine-growing region reveals itself in the glass with a dense ruby red. When the glass is held at a slight angle, the red wine shows a charming garnet-red hue at the rims. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high density and richness, which is reflected in pronounced church windows on the glass. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from Italy presents wonderfully complex aromas of mulberry, blackberry, blackcurrant and blueberry, rounded off by additional fruity nuances contributed by barrel aging.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was bottled with only 0.3 grams of residual sugar. As one would naturally expect from a top-range wine, this Italian, despite all its dryness, enchants with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully velvety. Thanks to the moderate acidity, the Barolo DOCG Piccole Vigne caresses the palate with a pleasing sensation, without lacking freshness. On the finish, this matured wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region finally impresses with beautiful length. Once again, hints of blueberry and mulberry appear.

Vinification of Erbaluna Barolo DOCG Piccole Vigne

The powerful Barolo DOCG Piccole Vigne from Italy is a single-varietal wine, organically produced from the Nebbiolo grape variety. After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the press house without delay. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures follows. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months in oak barrels. Once the wine is finished, the Barolo DOCG Piccole Vigne is gently harmonized.
