More information about Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 1,5 l Magnum - Gaja
With the Gaja Brunello di Montalcino 1.5 l, a first-class red wine finds its way into the glass. It offers a wonderfully dense, ruby-red color. At the edges, there is also a color transition into garnet red. If you give it some air by swirling, this red wine reveals a high density and richness, which is reflected in pronounced church windows on the glass. The nose of this red wine from Tuscany seduces with hints of blackberry, mulberry, blueberry and blackcurrant. Following the bouquet further, roasted hazelnut, caramelized almond and brittle are added.
On the palate, Gaja’s Brunello di Montalcino 1.5 l opens wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. Powerful and multi-layered, this silky red wine presents itself on the palate. On the finish, this very age-worthy red wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region finally delights with considerable length. Hints of blackberry and blueberry appear again. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the clay-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Gaja Brunello di Montalcino 1.5 l
This wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Sangiovese. For this extraordinarily powerful varietal wine from Gaja, only flawless grapes were used. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Tuscany. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into clay soils. The Brunello di Montalcino 1.5 l is an Old World wine in the best sense of the term, as this Italian exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. A very strong influence on the development of the grapes is also exerted by the fact that the Sangiovese grapes thrive under the influence of a warm climate. This is expressed, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a rather high alcohol content in the wine. After hand-harvesting, the grapes are brought to the winery without delay. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by maturation.
Food recommendation for the Gaja Brunello di Montalcino 1.5 l
