More information about Chardonnay - La Source
With La Source Chardonnay, a first-class white wine flows into the crystal-clear glass. There it displays a wonderfully bright, golden-yellow color. The bouquet of this white wine from the Aosta Valley impresses with notes of acacia. It is precisely its fruit-driven character that makes this wine so special.
La Source Chardonnay presents itself to the wine enthusiast as wonderfully dry. This white wine never appears coarse or austere, but rather round and supple. On the palate, this balanced white wine is characterized by an exceptionally silky and creamy texture. On the finish, this white wine from the Aosta Valley wine-growing region delights with a lovely length. Again, there are hints of acacia. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the sand-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Chardonnay from La Source
The balanced Chardonnay from Italy is a varietal wine, vinified from the Chardonnay grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Aosta Valley. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into sandy soils. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Chardonnay can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for several months.
Food recommendation for the Chardonnay from La Source
This Italian white wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8–10°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompaniment to coconut-lime fish curry, omelet with salmon and fennel, or leek tortilla.
