Chianti DOCG - Castello Toscano

The elegant Chianti Castello Toscano shimmers a bright ruby red in the glass. This Castello Toscano red wine presents the nose with all kinds of plums, blackberries, blackcurrants, damsons and black cherries. As if that wasn't already impressive, the ageing in small wooden barrels adds further aromas such as vanilla, cinnamon and cocoa bean.

The Castello Toscano Chianti is wonderfully dry. This red wine is never coarse or austere, but round and smooth. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly melting texture. Thanks to its vital fruit acidity, the Chianti is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this youthful red wine from the Tuscan wine-growing region finally impresses with its considerable length. Once again, there are hints of blackcurrant and blueberry.

Vinification of Castello Toscano Chianti

This balanced red wine from Italy is made from the Sangiovese grape variety. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand after optimal ripeness has been ensured. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wooden vats at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Chianti is aged for another 9 months in oak barriques.

Recommendation for the Chianti from Castello Toscano

This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to spaghetti with caper and tomato sauce, spicy curry with lamb or vegetable couscous with beef meatballs.
