More information about Conteisa Langhe Nebbiolo DOC - Gaja

The powerful Conteisa Langhe Nebbiolo from Gaja shimmers a dense ruby red in the glass. Slightly slanted, a transition of the color towards garnet red is visible at the edges. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in the strong stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. The nose of this red wine from Piedmont is captivating with nuances of plum, morello cherry, blueberry and blackberry. If we explore the aromas further, black tea, dark chocolate and green bell pepper are added.

The Gaja Conteisa Langhe Nebbiolo presents itself to wine lovers as a pleasantly dry wine. This red wine is never coarse or austere, as you would expect from an iconic wine segment. The texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully velvety on the palate. On the finish, this red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region impresses with its exceptional length. There are again hints of plum and black cherry. Mineral notes from the clay and limestone-dominated soils are added to the finish.

Vinification of the Conteisa Langhe Nebbiolo from Gaja

This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Nebbiolo. Only first-class grapes were harvested for this exceptionally powerful single-varietal wine from Gaja. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Piedmont. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into clay and limestone soils. After the grape harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by ageing.
