More information about Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG - Masi Agricola

The powerful Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico from Masi Agricola comes into the glass with a dense ruby red color. With a little sideways movement, the red wine glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the edges. When the glass is swirled, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in church windows at the edge of the glass. On the nose, this Masi Agricola red wine presents all kinds of blackberries, plums, wild berry jam, blueberries and rum pot. As if that wasn't already impressive, cinnamon, dark chocolate and oriental spices are added thanks to the ageing in small wooden barrels.

This Italian wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so, despite its dryness, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance. Taste does not necessarily need residual sugar. The texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully dense on the palate. The finish of this mature red wine from the Veneto wine-growing region, or more precisely from Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG, is ultimately delightful with a remarkable aftertaste.

Vinification of the Masi Agricola Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico

Grapes from the Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella grape varieties form the basis for the powerful Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico from Veneto. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wood casks at controlled temperatures. At the end of this process, the Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is aged for a further 24 months in French and Slavonian oak barrels. The ageing in oak barrels is followed by considerable bottle ageing, which makes this red wine even more complex.

Food recommendation for Masi Agricola Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico

This Italian red wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is the perfect accompaniment to roast veal liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce, spaghetti with caper and tomato sauce or rocket penne.
