More information about I Tratturi Rosato - Cantine San Marzano

The Rosato Salento I Tratturi from Cantine San Marzano shines a brilliant raspberry red in the glass, with ruby-colored reflections running through its appearance. Its distinctive aroma of pomegranate, sour cherry and rose unfolds on the nose. Sparkling fruit and lively acidity balance each other out in the upright body.

Vinification/Production

The Rosato Salento I Tratturi IGT is made exclusively from the Negroamaro grape variety, which is indigenous to Apulia. It becomes Rosato through gentle cold pressing of the grapes. A proportion of the must is immediately separated from the marc. The other part remains on the skins for 12-24 hours. Once all the must has been extracted, it takes on its typical rosé color. The must parts are reunited in steel tanks and fermented with selected yeasts.

Tasting

A deep pink hue with ruby red reflections in the glass is the first of many impressions with which the Negroamaro Rosato Salento I Tratturi IGT Apulia from Cantine San Marzano tantalizes the senses. As promised to the eye, the bouquet is also characterized by a fruity intensity. Aromas of roses coupled with sour cherries and pomegranates unfold persistently, reflecting the power of this rosé. It does not elude the palate prematurely either, but unfolds its body in an opulent manner for a rosé. The acidity is well integrated and does not dominate the taste despite the crisp, fresh fruit aromas. A dry wine that will remain true to its character for years to come.

Serving suggestions/food pairing

The intensity and fruit of the I Tratturi Rosato Salento goes well with the stronger Italian starters such as fish soups, salads with egg and cheese, baked fish dishes or poultry dishes. Young goat's cheese and nuts are also excellent accompaniments to this delicious wine.
