More information about Léne Salina Bianco - Salvatore D'Amico
In the glass, the organically produced Léne Salina Bianco from Salvatore D'Amico reveals a bright golden-yellow color. The bouquet of this white wine from Sicily seduces with hints of green apple, ripe apple, lemon, and mirabelle plum. Following the aromatics further, notes of mint/melissa appear.
This wine tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine, this Italian, despite all its dryness, delights with the finest balance. Excellent flavor does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, this well-balanced white wine is characterized by an extremely crisp and fleshy texture. The finish of this white wine from the Sicilian wine-growing region, more precisely from Sicilia DOC, is impressive with a lovely aftertaste. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral facets from the soils dominated by sand and volcanic rock.
Vinification of Salvatore D'Amico Léne Salina Bianco
This wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Malvasia delle Lipari. Only the best grape material was used for this exceptionally well-balanced varietal wine from Salvatore D'Amico. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Sicily. Here, the vines sink their roots deep into soils of sand and volcanic rock. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately brought to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Léne Salina Bianco can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for several months.
