With the Limizzani Vermentino di Gallura DOCG a first-class white wine comes to the glass. It shows a wonderfully brilliant, pale yellow color. The first nose of the Limizzani Vermentino di Gallura DOCG reveals notes of pomelos, limes and lemons. To the fruity aspects of the bouquet are added forest floor and sun-warmed rock.
This Italian wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with only 1 gram of residual sugar. As one would expect from an entry-level premium wine, this Italian enchants, despite its dryness, with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily require much residual sugar. On the palate the texture of this light-footed white wine feels wonderfully light. Through its pronounced fruit acidity the Limizzani Vermentino di Gallura DOCG reveals itself on the palate wonderfully fresh and lively. On the finish this age-worthy white wine from the wine-growing region of Sardinia ultimately impresses with considerable length. Once again hints of pomelo and grapefruit appear. In the aftertaste mineral notes from the clay-dominated soils are added.
Vinification of the Limizzani Vermentino di Gallura DOCG - Surrau
The basis for the elegant Limizzani Vermentino di Gallura DOCG from Sardinia are grapes of the Vermentino variety. In Sardinia the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay soils. After the harvest the grapes are promptly brought to the cellar. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.

This Italian white wine should best be enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It pairs perfectly with leek tortilla, pan-fried trout with ginger pear, or coconut-lime fish curry.
