More information about Poggio Lombrone Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva DOCG - Colle Massari
The powerful Poggio Lombrone Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva from Colle Massari shimmers into the glass with a dense ruby red color. When the glass is tilted slightly, a transition of the wine color towards garnet red can be seen at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. If you swirl it in the glass to give it some air, this red wine reveals high viscosity, which shows in the church windows on the glass wall. On the nose, this Colle Massari red wine displays all sorts of sour cherries, violets and red currants.
The Colle Massari Poggio Lombrone Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva presents itself pleasantly dry to the wine drinker. This red wine never appears coarse or austere, as one might expect from a wine in the icon-wine segment. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully silky. Thanks to its lively acidity, Poggio Lombrone Montecucco Sangiovese Riserva appears exceptionally fresh and vibrant on the palate. On the finish, this matured wine from the Tuscan wine-growing region finally delights with considerable length. Once again, nuances of red currant and sour cherry appear.
