More information about Rialzi Chianti Classico DOCG - Tenuta Perano - Frescobaldi

The powerful Rialzi Chianti Classico from Frescobaldi shimmers with a dense ruby red into the glass. Held slightly tilted, a transition of the wine color towards garnet red is visible at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which is evident in the "church window" effect at the rim of the glass. This single-varietal Italian wine beautifully displays noble notes of blueberries, blackcurrants, mulberries, and blackberries in the glass. Additional hints of other fruits are also present.

This dry red wine by Frescobaldi is ideal for wine lovers who prefer completely bone-dry wines. The Rialzi Chianti Classico comes very close, as it is made with only 1 gram of residual sugar. On the palate, this full-bodied red wine impresses with an incredibly velvety and dense texture. Its pronounced fruity acidity makes the Rialzi Chianti Classico taste wonderfully fresh and lively. The finish of this mature red wine from the Tuscany wine region, specifically from Chianti Classico, is distinguished by a remarkable aftertaste.

Vinification of Frescobaldi Rialzi Chianti Classico

This powerful Italian red wine is produced from the Sangiovese grape variety. The Rialzi Chianti Classico is a true Old World wine, as this Italian exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. The ripening process of the harvest for this wine from Sangiovese is significantly influenced by the climate of the cultivation region. In Tuscany, the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected in particularly well-ripened grapes and a relatively high must weight. The grapes for this Italian red wine are harvested exclusively by hand when perfectly ripe. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the press room, where they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and small barrels at controlled temperatures. Upon completion of fermentation, the Rialzi Chianti Classico continues to harmonize for 36 months on fine yeast. After aging in oak barrels, it undergoes a lengthy bottle aging process, which makes this red wine even more complex.

Food pairing recommendations for Rialzi Chianti Classico from Frescobaldi

This Italian wine is best enjoyed slightly chilled at 15-18°C. It pairs perfectly with cabbage roulades, potato skillet with salmon, or vegetable stew with pesto.
