More information about Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG - Tenuta Perano - Frescobaldi

The Frescobaldi Chianti Classico Riserva brings a top-quality red wine into the glass. It reveals a wonderfully dense, ruby-red color. Additionally, a transition into garnet red can be seen. After the first swirl, this red wine displays a high density and fullness, which is evident in clear church window-like reflections at the rim of the glass. The initial aroma of the Chianti Classico Riserva shows nuances of black cherries, blueberries, and mulberries. The fruity hints of the bouquet are complemented by notes from oak aging such as cinnamon, oriental spices, and dark chocolate.

This red from Frescobaldi is perfect for all wine lovers who prefer minimal sweetness in wine. However, it never appears sparse or brittle, as one might normally expect from a top-tier wine. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully dense. Its pronounced fruit acidity makes the Chianti Classico Riserva taste refreshingly fresh and lively. The well-cellared wine from the Tuscany wine region impresses finally with considerable length in the finish. Again, hints of plum and shadow morello cherries are noticeable.

Vinification of Frescobaldi's Chianti Classico Riserva

This powerful red wine from Italy is made from the grape varieties Merlot and Sangiovese. The Chianti Classico Riserva is a true Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian exudes an extraordinary European charm, clearly emphasizing the success of wines from the Old World. An important influence on the development of the vinestock is also the fact that the Merlot and Sangiovese grapes thrive under the influence of a warm climate. This is reflected in particularly well-ripened grapes and a relatively high alcohol content in the wine. When optimal physiological ripeness is achieved, the grapes for the Chianti Classico Riserva are harvested exclusively by hand, without the aid of coarse and less selective machinery. After harvest, the grapes are quickly transported to the press house, where they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the Chianti Classico Riserva is matured for an additional 24 months in barrels made of Slovenian oak. The aging in wooden barrels is followed by a significant bottle aging, which makes this red wine even more complex.

Food pairing recommendations for Frescobaldi's Chianti Classico Riserva

This Italian red wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as a companion to lemon-chili chicken with bulgur, cabbage rolls, or baked sheep cheese parcels.
