More information about Rosso di Montepulciano DOC - Contucci
The powerful Rosso di Montepulciano from Contucci splashes into the glass with a dense ruby red. At the rim, this Italian red also shows a transition into garnet red. When the glass is swirled, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which is reflected in strong church windows on the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Contucci reveals aromas of violets and plums, complemented by blackcurrant. The Contucci Rosso di Montepulciano presents itself wonderfully dry to the wine drinker. This red wine never appears coarse or lean, as one might expect from a wine in the top-quality segment. On the palate, this powerful red wine is characterized by an extremely velvety texture. On the finish, this matured red wine from the Tuscany region finally delights with a lovely length. Once again, nuances of violets and plum become apparent.
Vinification of the Rosso di Montepulciano from Contucci
The starting point for the first-class and wonderfully powerful Rosso di Montepulciano cuvée from Contucci is Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes. After the harvest, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
