More information about Santagostino Baglio Soria Rosso - Firriato

The Santagostino Baglio Soria Rosso by Firriato from Sicily reveals a dense, purple-red color in the swirled glass. With a little sideways tilt, the red wine glass, Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the rims. When poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry and plum, rounded off with garrigue, cocoa bean and gingerbread spice, which are contributed by the ageing in wooden barrels.

The Firriato Santagostino Baglio Soria Rosso delights with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in the high quality wine range, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need sugar. This silky red wine is full-bodied and multi-faceted on the palate. Thanks to its balanced fruit acidity, Santagostino Baglio Soria Rosso flatters the palate with a pleasing mouthfeel without lacking in juicy liveliness. On the finish, this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Sicily impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of plum and blackcurrant.

Vinification of the Firriato Santagostino Baglio Soria Rosso

The powerful Santagostino Baglio Soria Rosso from Italy is a single-varietal wine made from the Syrah grape variety. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand at the time of optimum ripeness. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off. The ageing in the barrel is followed by extensive ageing in the bottle, which makes this red wine even more complex.
