More information about Spätburgunder trocken Alte Reben Baden - Bernhard Huber

The Spätburgunder Alte Reben Baden, matured in barrel and originating from the Baden wine-growing region, presents itself in the glass in a bright light red. When held at a slight angle, the Burgundy goblet reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the rim. When given some air by swirling, one can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it neither appears watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. Poured into a Burgundy glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of blueberry, black currant, blackberry and mulberry, rounded off by sun-warmed rock and forest floor contributed by the barrel aging.

This German wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly sets itself apart from simpler qualities and thus, despite all its dryness, this German wine enchants with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily require sugar. On the palate, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an immensely meaty and silky texture. On the finish, this red wine from the Baden wine-growing region, which has excellent aging potential, finally impresses with considerable length. Nuances of blueberry and black currant reappear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of Bernhard Huber Spätburgunder Alte Reben Baden

This balanced red wine from Germany is made from the Spätburgunder grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Baden. Here the vines drive their roots deep into limestone soils. Spätburgunder Alte Reben Baden is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this German wine exudes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, Spätburgunder Alte Reben Baden is aged for another 18 months in oak barriques.
